U.S. Green Building Council - Central Ohio Chapter and Construction Specifications Institute Columbus Chapter announce their first annual joint trade show and educational event to be held April 18, 2011 at COSI Columbus.
DesignColumbus2011 will highlight the economic and job-creating opportunities that sustainable development offers to Central Ohio. “Green building is more than just how a structure is constructed and operated,” says USGBC- Central Ohio Chapter President Kurt Smith, “the buildingʼs location and interaction with the surrounding community is vital.” To complement its sixteen educational seminars and two-floor trade show, the eventʼs keynote panel will describe the innovative “Agrarian Urbanist” redevelopment plan for the Weinland Park neighborhood.
DesignColumbus2011 is an opportunity to learn about, and engage in, transforming our Central Ohio built environment to be more healthy, prosperous, and sustainable. This full day of continuing education and informational displays is organized to attract hundreds of building industry professionals, including architects, designers, engineers, owners, developers, government officials, municipal planners, facility managers, contractors, construction managers, construction specifiers, manufacturers, product representatives, and others.
For all attendees, the continuing education component includes opportunities for AIA and GBCI/USGBC continuing education units (CEUs). These CEU opportunities are of tremendous value to AIA and LEED Accredited Professionals interested in maintaining their credentials in an ever more competitive marketplace.
A physical trade show area allows space for informational displays and product demonstrations. A variety of sponsorship levels are provided to trade show exhibitors.
